Aisha and Danielle Moodie-Mills made a huge splash a few years ago when their wedding became the first same-sex couple marriage to be featured on Essence.com. Since then, the two have joined forced to fight for LGBT marriage rights all over the USA and specifically have made a huge impact on LGBT rights in their home state of Washington, D.C. Together, the ladies are changing the face of the power couple and are breaking down doors and pushing for equality for all. The couple made headlines again this year when Aisha Moodie-Mills was selected as one of the OUT100, a list of the the most influential people in the LGBT community, which was topped by President Barack Obama.

The ladies sat down with Amtrak for a documentary style video to talk about their influence in the LGBT community as a team as well as about their individual accolades: Danielle is the creator of BLIS.FM’s most downloaded show, “Politini,” and CEO of Politini Media, a boutique communications and media strategy firm specializing in content creation and development for those seeking to engage with the New American Majority. Aisha is the President and CEO of the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund and Institute and is a OUT100 honoree. Meet the Moodie-Mills.

On the night of the gala, Aisha was off at the Rockwood Leadership Institute furthering the work that she and Danielle do to advocate for LGBT rights. Danielle was honored to represent her wife at the gala and she allowed Amtrak to document her journey aboard the Northeast Regional Rail en route to New York for the annual OUT100 Gala. In the mini-doocumentary, she excitedly celebrates the work of her wife Aisha and the other 99 honorees! Danielle made the most of downtown-to-downtown service, boarding her train at Union Station in Washington, DC, the afternoon of the event and arriving just minutes away from her hotel when she disembarked at New York’s Penn Station.
