EXCLUSIVE Photos: TESTIMONY, Queer Women of Color Benefit Concert
Last Thursday, November 7, a congregation of fierce folks gathered in Brooklyn, NY for TESTIMONY, a night of music and storytelling. Hosted by Jade Foster of the hit web series, The Peculiar Kind, the event served as a fundraiser for Women and the Word: THE REVIVAL Documentary Film. The movie chronicles five queer women of color that hit the road for an 8-city journey that brings poetry, music, and transformation to living rooms across the country.
Guests at TESTIMONY bore witness to Cave Canem Fellow Angel Nafis, author of “Black Girl Mansion,” queer pop sensation Be Steadwell, a SOLROSE reunion, and a special performance by Célia Faussart of Les Nubians. TESTIMONY was also proud to host the New York City premiere of D.C.-based powerhouse duo BOOMscat!
