There’s no place like Harlem in June, during Pride season. Click your heels three times and celebrate PRIDE 2014, June 22nd- 29th during Harlem Pride’s 5th Annual Celebration festivities, themed “There’s No Place Like Home.” The uptown enclave will once again open its arms to thousands of SGL/LGBTQ revelers, family and friends from the Tri State area and beyond. The sense of ‘home’ is what the SGL/LGBTQ community seeks during this time of the year, a place to celebrate, reflect and make new fierce memories. The Harlem Pride 2014 Committee is gearing up for a week of free and ticketed festivities which will appeal to every taste.

Highlights of the week include a Sunday, June 22nd Harlem Pride 2014 Sunday Service at Rivers @ Rehoboth Church, 2 - 5PM. Sunday evening Harlem Pride joins forces with the Dominican Film Festival to screen “El Gallo.” Monday, June 23rd, 2014 “Made in NY” Talks: Flipping the Script – The Next Chapter of Black SGL/LGBTQ Portrayal in Media, National Black Theatre 2031 5th Avenue, between 125th & 126th Street, 7:00pm; doors open at 6:15pm. Thursday, June 26th, VIP Launch Party and Harlem Pride “Legacy of Pride” Awards at Aloft Hotel Harlem, 7 - 10PM, the evening will highlight the creator / producers of “Mighty Real” a Sylvester Musical” starring Anthony Wayne (Tickets $50.) Friday, June 27th, Maysles Cinema, 343 Lenox Avenue at W. 127th Street will Screen “Before You Know It” Time 6:30PM, $10 Donation. The signature event will be the Saturday, June 28th, 5th Annual Harlem Pride Day Celebration, 12Noon - 6pm at Jackie Robinson Park located on Bradhurst Avenue @ West 148th Street. Next, join Harlem Pride on Sunday, June 29th when they head downtown to march in the NYC Heritage Pride Parade.
