ELIXHER Founder And Editor-in-Chief to Appear on Internet Week NY “We Got Our Own” Panel
ELIXHER founder and editor-in-chief Kimberley McLeod will appear on a panel of successful female digital content creators of color on Monday, May 20, 2013, 6:30 p.m., at the Central Branch of Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) as a part of Internet Week New York. At “We Got Our Own,” attendees will learn about creating, distributing, and monetizing engaging digital content for blogs, news publications, web series and personal brands. Multimedia journalist Patrice Peck has teamed up with the Brooklyn non-profit arts organization BRIC, BPL’s lead media education partner, to organize this event, which will take place in the library’s new high-tech learning hub, the Shelby White and Leon Levy Information Commons.
The group of take-charge entrepreneurs selected for the panel also include: Claire Sulmers, the creator of The Fashion Bomb; Kathryn Finney, the founder of The Budget Fashionista and Digital Undivided, and Editor-at-Large of BlogHer, Inc; and Keiko Wright, creator of the web series Ladypoints. During the discussion, “We Got Our Own” speakers will focus on how they determine production schedules and workflow, how they recruit and manage team members, how they create efficient business plans, how they generate multiple revenue sources and more.
While the event is sold-out of general attendance tickets and the waiting list is full, the panel will likely be available for viewing at a later date. Check back on ELIXHER.com for details.
