BREAKING: Gay East Point Officer Allegedly Killed by Ex-Girlfriend

An East Point police officer killed by a gunshot to the head was allegedly killed by her former roommate, according to the police. Friends and family of the officer are saying the two women were girlfriends at one time. Danielle Parker was arrested Tuesday in the killing of Cpl. Crystal Parker, a six-year veteran of the East Point Police Department who was named Officer of the Year in 2012. No motive and no specifics about the relationship between the two women were given by police. Police did say the two women lived together at one time.

Most lesbians have heard it at least once in their lives: all they need is a good screw by the right guy to turn them straight, to “cure” them of being lesbian. That conventional wisdom, oft-repeated by heterosexual men, has been taken to its most literal extreme in South Africa, where the brutal trend of “corrective rape” claimed another victim on June 30 when Duduzile Zozo, 26, was found murdered. Duduzile, an out lesbian, was partially naked and a toilet brush had been shoved into her vagina, rupturing it. She was found by her mother, Thuziwe Zozo, about 40 feet from the Zozo home, in a neighbor’s yard.

An openly gay teenager who was expelled for bringing a personal alarm device to protect himself from bullies who relentlessly tormented him settled with the Indianapolis Public School district for $65,000, reports Indiana’s Fox59. The expulsion will also be scrubbed from the student’s record.

LGBT teens find hope at Highland Park-based Ruth Ellis Center

Located in the impoverished suburb of Highland Park, Michigan, The Ruth Ellis Center has been providing hope for LGBT teens since 1999. Mark Erwin, director of community development, says that center was originally created to honor Ruth Ellis, an LGBT activist who is believed to be the oldest known ‘out’ African-American.
